Here's what we were working with - an open covered patio with zero privacy, no real character, and nothing going on. Just bare concrete posts, an exposed backyard, and a lot of wasted potential. That's a pretty common starting point for a lot of backyards around Central Texas.

What we built here is a full custom privacy wall and outdoor bar setup, finished in a rich Pecan stain with a polyurethane clear coat on top. The stain pulls out every knot and grain detail in the wood. Nothing gets hidden - it all becomes part of the look. The clear coat on the countertop surface locks that color in and gives it a gloss finish that holds up against the elements.

The privacy wall runs horizontal-slat style, giving it that clean, intentional look without completely blocking airflow. It's not just a fence - it defines the space. Paired with the vertical-plank bar wall wrapping around the perimeter, the whole patio now has structure and purpose. It actually feels like a room.

The polyurethane finish on the countertop is what makes this thing practical, not just pretty. That bar top is going to see drinks, weather, and heavy use - the clear coat is what protects the wood underneath and keeps it looking sharp long-term. We take that part just as seriously as the staining itself.

Custom woodwork like this is exactly the kind of project we love. Whether it's a privacy screen, an outdoor bar, a pergola, or a fence that needs staining, we're set up to handle it across Central Texas. The difference between a backyard you avoid and one you actually use is usually just one good build away.
