Shutters take a beating out in the sun. Over time the paint fades, chips, and starts to peel - and what was once a sharp accent on your home starts to look tired. That's exactly the situation we were dealing with here. The shutters had peeling, flaking paint that needed to go before anything new could stick.

Here's the thing most people skip - the prep work. Before we ever opened a can of paint, we sanded these shutters down to get rid of the old failing paint. That step matters more than most people realize. Paint applied over a rough, peeling surface is going to fail again fast. Proper prep is what makes a paint job hold up through seasons of heat, rain, and UV exposure.

Once the surface was clean and smooth, we applied a Havana Coffee finish. It's a rich, warm dark brown that sits perfectly against stone, stucco, and brick exteriors - exactly the type of facades these homes have. The color reads as bold without being too heavy, and it ties together the natural tones already in the stonework and brickwork.

We use scaffolding to reach the upper-level shutters safely and cleanly. That's not a small thing. Working off scaffolding instead of a ladder means better control, better coverage, and no cut corners just because something is hard to reach. Every shutter on every window gets the same attention - top floor or ground level.

The end result is a finish that looks intentional, not just painted over. Clean edges, solid color, no bleed onto the surrounding trim or wall surface. If your shutters are looking faded or worn, this is the kind of work that makes a real difference in how your home presents itself from the street.
